Jeffrey Neil Wesley

Jeffrey Neil Wesley, age 49 of Graysville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 30, 2018 after enduring a long battle with heart failure. Jeff was born July 23, 1968 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Della Ruth and Billy Neil Wesley. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Aaron and Venice Justice and John and Sarah Wesley. Jeff was a loving father and husband. Words can not describe how much he will be missed. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Jana; his precious son, Jacob; and his beautiful daughter, Lauren; along with his brother, Jay (Stefany) Wesley; his uncle, David (Susan) Mason; mother-in-law, Judy Moore; sister-in-law, Amanda (Chris) Monty; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aside from his irreplaceable role as both a devoted husband and nurturing father, Jeff will perhaps be best remembered in the countless lives he touched throughout his 26 years of dedicated service as a firefighter and paramedic. Before retiring, he served as a Captain for the Forestdale Fire District and in his hometown as Chief of the Graysville Fire Department. Jeff exemplified the humble professionalism and comradery he strived to instill in every man he served alongside. Jeff was a member of Graysville First Baptist for more than half of his life before moving his membership and attending Sumiton First Baptist for several years. In the past years, when his health would allow, he was able to attend Gardendale First Baptist. He was a devoted member of the Fishers of Men/Code 1:17 Club and loved those men as his brothers. They brought great joy and Christian fellowship to both Jeff and Jacob and have been a blessing to our family. The family would like to thank the entire team of heart failure and transplant nurses, physicians, and surgeons at Vanderbilt Medical Center for the care and the compassion they provided during such a difficult time. Jeff now joins his loved ones and has already begun serving our precious Lord in his heavenly home where there is no more pain and suffering. Arrangements for Jeffrey Neil Wesley include a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, July 5, 2018 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home.
