Peggy "Meme" Barnett

September 13, 1939 - April 9, 2022

Peggy “Meme” Barnett, 82 of Sumiton, went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2022. She was faithful member of Freedom Worship Church. She was a longtime employee at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. She was known to everyone as “Meme” and all who knew her, loved her. Funeral services will be Tuesday April 12, 22 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Marlin Eddy and Rev. James Aycox will officiate. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery in Sumiton. Visitation is Monday night 6-8 pm at the funeral home. She was preceded by her parents, Polly and Buster Spears; brothers, Larry and Mike Spears; great grandchild, Charlie Lockhart and cousin and best friend, Patsy Gant. Survivors include her daughters, Myra Myrick (Gil), Deb Eddy (Marlin), Carol Meeder ( Randy) and Dava Moseley (Jerry); grandchildren, Ashleigh Lockhart (Cody), Bryan Myrick (Jessica), Matt Eddy (Morgan), Mallory Moseley (Cam Kellett), Jacob Nesbitt (Kait), Chris Nesbitt (Amy), Anthony Eddy (Tab), Buffie Morgan and Nick Eddy (Sandi); great grandchildren, Paisley Eddy, Eli Kirkland, Annleigh Cate Lockhart, Easton Lockhart, Eva and Maddie Nesbitt, Vada Beth Kellett, Kattie Hood (Chase), Ellie Hood, Sawyer Hood, Garrett Morgan and Jarrett, Cory and Skylar Eddy; sister, Amenda Harris; nephew, Mike Harris (Connie); great nephew, Sean Harris (Alana); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and m any friends.
