Harold C. "Ooten" Roberts

July 9, 1940 - February 4, 2022

Harold C. “Ooten” Roberts, age 81 of Empire, passed away February 4, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Annie May Roberts; son, Dale Bailey; one sister; four brothers and several nieces and nephews. Harold is survived by his wife of 46 wonderful years, Rose Ann Roberts; sons Larry Roberts, Jeff Bailey (Ashley); daughter, Theresa Bailey; grandchildren, Chyenne and Courtney Roberts, Emily and Justin Bailey and Emma and Ella May; his very loving sister-in-law, Jane Watkins as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Harold was born in 1940. When he turned fourteen he moved to Chicago to work with his Dad. He decided to drop out of school and stay in the work force. Harold was built for speed. He loved anything about cars from mechanic work or restoration to driving. He became a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Harold worked in logging and as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed going on adventures and driving all over the United States, but when he was home you would find him sitting on his porch enjoying time with his family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home at 11am. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Bro. Terry Murphree officiating.
