Carl Minyard

July 20, 1957 - February 23, 2022

Richard Carl Minyard , age 64 or Brookside, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He graduated in the class of 1976. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and retired from Joe Piper Paper Company. He was an incredible and hard working employee for about 24 years. He was a dedicated father to Michella Minyard, and son to Glenn and Francis Minyard. He enjoyed going to Gospel signings and Antique Shows with family and friends. He had a love for classic cars, especially his 57 Gold Chevrolet. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan who cheered them on every Saturday. Carl was a selfless and kindhearted man that left a special impression on each person he met. He was loved by so many and will be remembered for his soft-spoken, tender hearted spirit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daun. Carl was survived by his daughter, Michella Minyard; parents, Glenn and Frances Minyard; brother, Billy Minyard; sister, Robin Gilliam (Charles); and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm In the New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in the chapel. Rev John Foles and Bro Larry Neil officiating. Burial to follow in the New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
