Mary Fay Rogers Reaid of Dora, Alabama, ,was born March 22, 1927 and passed away on January 15, 2024, at her home that she loved. For days preceding her death, she was surrounded by her family who loved and adored her. Funeral services honoring her life will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at New Horizon Chapel with Rev. Bruce LeVan officiating. Burial will follow at Shanghi Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2024, from 9:30 am- 11:00 am. She is preceded in death by her husband, E.V. (Lucky) Reaid, Parents Walter and Gertrude Rogers, Sister Hazel Rogers Moore, Brothers Erskine Rogers, Herman Rogers, and Jimmy Rogers, Daughter Randi Reaid Edins, and Son David Reaid. She is survived by her children: Dana Reaid (Terrie) and Suzanne Reaid Light (John), Grandchildren Greg Wallace (Lori), Matthew Light (Jessica), Ami Reaid, Davey Reaid, Jeremy Reaid (Kim), Lindsay Reaid Smith (Matt), and Ashley Combs Chambers (Michael). Great-grandchildren include Miles Wallace, Mason Roush-Wallace (Tyler), Martin Wallace (Shauna), Mattie Light Milwood (Jarred), Carter Light, John Reaid DeFore, Adam Grant DeFore, Nick DeFore, Aubree Smith, Reaid Chambers, Rhett Chambers and Riggs Chambers. Great-great grandchildren include Gracie, Caroline, Ryleigh, and Rayden Wallace. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Rogers Mitchell, and her constant companion Girlfriend, her puppy. Very special thanks to her granddaughter, Jessica Light, who has been her day-to-day caregiver for the last three years. Jessica enhanced and kept Maw Maw’s quality of life in her last years. Faye AKA Maw Maw Luv was a special person to all. She was funny, classy, truthful, loving, direct, and sometimes inappropriate! She believed in the best of people, and she lived her life in a manner before her children and those around her that honesty and truthfulness came first. She never compromised her integrity. For so many, she was a dedicated caretaker with the Visiting Nurse Association and went on later to take care of many family members. She loved life, laughter, her family, day trips with her children, birds, plants, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and crocheting. She left behind so many pieces of crocheted art that will be cherished by her family. But the biggest thing she is leaving behind is her legacy of love.
